At BTST Academy, we are doing all that we reasonably can to minimise risk whilst remaining open for theory and practical lessons. However, we cannot completely eliminate risk, especially as COVID-19 can be spread by those showing no symptoms.
Therefore by attending all classroom lessons YOU accept ALL risks and liabilities.
Learners have the right to transfer onto a later course once it is deemed safer should they wish to wait.
Information for everyone attending the academy
The aim of this page is to offer guidance to all BTST Team members, Learners, Clinicians, Tutors, Assessors and visitors as we open our academy again to begin teaching in a classroom situation during COVID-19. It includes guidance on the protective equipment and hygiene levels necessary to safeguard all parties from infection, and the training advised by Public Health England to ensure the above.

Safeguarding Procedure for COVID-19 – Massage Course Classroom Practical Days – Precautions / Procedures
Classroom theory & Practical days – Learners separated on individual tables keeping 1-2 metre distance
Classroom maximum numbers keeping 1 metre distance = MAX 6 learners / massage stations in the classroom.
Practical Practice – Learners to wear FULL PPE (Mask, Gloves, Apron) when working on other learners on the course and members of public. All persons being massaged will also wear a mask.
Massage practice will be carried out in a well ventilated room.
Learners to be allocated a work station / zone with all equipment needed including cleaning products to clean station down before & after use
PPE – Learners and guests to wear masks at all times whilst moving around the clinic
PPE – Teacher to wear full PPE – Mask, apron and googles when needed – hands to be cleaned thoroughly through use of hand sanitiser between learners
Learners, guests and staff to fully wash hands on arrival to the clinic
Room to be aired out regularly via open doors / windows for a constant fresh air flow when weather allows. On cold days – air expelling air conditioning units used for heat and windows open for fresh air flow
Longer lunch to be scheduled for learners to spend lunch time off site. – No kitchen facilities provided.
End of the day / lesson – learner to thoroughly clean down work station

BEFORE attending the course days you and your body/client will be asked to complete a COVID19 questionnaire and waiver form, Failure to do so will result in you being unable to attend the course days.
All Learners and visitors to complete COVID19 questionnaire form and consent signed BEFORE attending each lesson/session
Learners to arrive at staggered times (5mins apart to avoid all arriving at the same time and congregating)
On entering the clinic please do NOT sit down or touch anything in reception.
On entering the clinic please proceed straight to the hand sanitising station or sink to thoroughly wash your hands for a minimum of 20seconds following the step by step guidance poster
After washing hands please put on your face mask or covering if not already wearing one (this must be worn at ALL times when distancing is difficult)
Learners to go to allocated station/zone and set up couch.
On entering your work station / treatment room please thoroughly clean your massage couch and work station.
Learners to bring with them – 3x Large Bath Sheets and 2x hand towels – these will be used by the learner when receiving treatment.
During your time in the clinic, all internal doors including treatment room doors will remain open and pinned back – Do not touch or close
Weather permitting – External doors will also remain open to aid ventilation – Do not touch – the tutor will adjust if needed
Regardless of weather – windows where possible will be opened to help air circulation – Do not touch – the tutor will adjust if needed
Air-con units will be used only if really needed to cool the room and an oiled filled heater will be used to provide heat if needed. Do not touch – the tutor willadjust if needed
Throughout your time in the clinic please keep your hands clean by using Hand Sanitiser especially before and after massaging, before applying / removingPPE and if needing to touch your face.
If learners need the toilet facilities – will be asked to thoroughly clean hands before going using facilities and after.
Learners and visitors when moving / walking around the clinic to always be mindful of other people and to keep social distance of minimum of 1 meter.
Longer breaks will be allocated as ALL breaks to be taken outside the academy / clinic – NO kitchen facilities will be available therefore you must bring yourown drinks and food
If you start exhibiting any cold or flu-like symptoms and/or a fever please inform Becky straight away, do NOT come in for your lesson or go home immediately if symptoms start whilst at BTST and self-quarantine for 14 days. I understand should another learner, Body, BTST team member or visitor to the academy, show signs of COVID19 or/& test positive, I too may need to be tested and self isolate
